Pulmonary Embolism (PE) is the blockage of one of the pulmonary arteries in the lung by a fat or air embolus, but most commonly a blood clot. The blood clot usually comes from Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) in the deep veins of the legs. PE’s generally cause restricted blood flow, decreased O2 levels, and can be fatal.
